AMD Radeon RX 6600 XT is actually good in cryptomining

AMD’s just-released mid-range RX 6600 XT might be at risk from crypto miners.

According to the report from Reddit , AMD RX 6600 XT appears to be quite good in mining, offering impressive mining efficiency compared to other products. The data shared on the platform is based on preliminary data and speculation, which is why we decided to do more digging.

AMD RDNA2 GPUs are not commonly used for mining due to their price and relatively worse mining performance compared to NVIDIA Ampere GPUs. More importantly, RDNA2 GPUs have shorter memory buses, which affects mining performance the most.

This might not be the case with Navi 23 GPU though. The Radeon RX 6600 XT with 2048 Stream Processors and its 8GB GDDR6 memory across a 128-bit interface is already good in mining. According to the video made by Dizzy Mining , who had used MSI RX 6600 XT Gaming X, the card offers 28 MH/s at 93W out of the box. After reducing the maximum GPU frequency to 1.2 GHz and increasing memory frequency to 2.2 GHz, mining performance increased to 32 MH/s while TDP dropped to 55W (GPU ASIC Power).
