Valve releases Proton 11.0 Beta 2 with EA App lockup fix
Valve has released Proton 11.0 Beta 2, a smaller update to its upcoming Steam Play compatibility layer for Linux and SteamOS.
The update brings Xalia 0.4.9, which fixes lockups when interacting with the EA App. Valve also fixed a Proton 11 regression where They Are Billions could show low FPS during the intro cinematic.
VKD3D-Proton was also updated to the current proton-20260410 branch. According to Valve, this includes fixes for Marvel’s Avengers.
This is a maintenance update after the larger Proton 11.0 Beta 1 release, which rebased Proton on Wine 11.0 and added a longer list of game fixes. The previous release had a lot of game updates, so in case you are not aware of the Beta 1 update, check our previous article .
