GPD BOX is a 0.926-liter Panther Lake mini PC with eGPU support
The 0.926-liter system will be offered with Core Ultra X7 358H or Core Ultra 7 356H processors

GPD has detailed the BOX, a new mini PC based on Intel Core Ultra Series 3 processors. The system uses Intel Panther Lake chips and comes in a 0.926-liter chassis with a built-in 160W GaN power supply.
The mini PC will be offered with either the Core Ultra X7 358H or Core Ultra 7 356H. Both processors have 16 cores in a 4P + 8E + 4 LP-E configuration. Intel lists the X7 358H with a 4.8 GHz boost clock and Arc B390 graphics with 12 Xe cores, while the 356H boosts up to 4.7 GHz and uses Intel Graphics with 4 Xe cores.
One version comes with MCIO 8i, the high-speed PCIe 5.0×8 connector
The two versions are not split only by graphics performance. The Core Ultra 7 356H model is the one with the MCIO 8i connector, which provides PCIe 5.0 x8 bandwidth for external graphics or storage. The Core Ultra X7 358H has the faster integrated GPU, but Intel’s official specs list fewer PCIe lanes for this processor, which explains why GPD does not offer MCIO on that version.

GPD is pairing the BOX with the GPD G2 external GPU dock. This dock is designed for desktop graphics cards and is listed with support for current high-end GPUs, including GeForce RTX 4090 and RTX 5090-class cards. VideoCardz already covered GPD’s earlier teaser, where the company claimed only a 2% performance loss for RTX 4090 through MCIO 8i compared to a desktop PCIe slot.
Both GPD BOX configurations support 32GB or 64GB of LPDDR5x-8533 memory. Storage includes one pre-installed M.2 SSD from 512GB to 4TB on a PCIe Gen4 x4 drive. The main M.2 slot supports PCIe Gen5 x4, while a second empty M.2 slot is available at PCIe Gen4 x2.

The port layout also includes two USB4 v2.0 ports, four USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A ports, DisplayPort 2.1 with UHBR20, HDMI 2.1 with FRL, dual 2.5GbE LAN, Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3. GPD has not confirmed pricing or availability yet.
