Roblox is developing a video-model supersampler for Roblox games
Roblox is developing a new rendering architecture called Roblox Reality, an internal project designed to bring photorealistic visuals to multiplayer Roblox games.

Roblox wants to use a video world model as a rendering layer that can generate higher-fidelity textures, lighting, motion and environmental detail from existing game data. Jugding from the samples, it can turn the game entirely into something that was originally different.
Same as DLSS 5 but different
Roblox describes Reality as a hybrid system combining its cloud-based game engine with edge-based Video World Models. The regular Roblox engine remains responsible for the game state, player positions, collisions, physics rules and multiplayer synchronization. The video model then generates the final visual layer on top of rendered video and 3D spatial data.

So this is clearly not like the DLSS5, which required two RTX 5090 cards for a real-time demo (the aim is to work on one card). The company says its target is 2K resolution at 60 Hz, with processing handled by cloud-edge GPU infrastructure. Roblox says the Super Upsampler would run in connected edge data centers using H200, B200-class GPUs, or equivalent accelerators.
Roblox also admits the limitations of using video world models for games. The company says these models struggle with persistent state, strict rules, user input control, long-term memory and true multiplayer simulation. This is why Roblox is keeping the game engine as the source of truth while using the AI model only for visual and generative elements.
I think it’s safe to say that we won’t see this work on consumer GPUs anytime soon, so NVIDIA has an upper hand here, as they may actually deliver full frame real-time AI rendering this year.
Also, the irony: the original video and images are only 720p resolution, so I used AI to upscale it.
