Microsoft Surface Laptop 8 for Business spotted with 16-core Panther Lake CPU

Microsoft is preparing new Surface systems for business customers, and Geekbench entries now provide early details on the Intel configurations. The new data was found by WinFuture, which reports that Microsoft is expected to introduce updated Surface Pro and Surface Laptop models in mid-May.

The listings cover the Intel-based Surface Pro 13 for Business and Surface Laptop 8 for Business. These models are expected to launch before ARM-based consumer devices, while the business versions continue to use Intel processors. There were reports that Microsoft would split the next Surface refresh between Snapdragon X2 consumer systems and Panther Lake business SKUs.
The new Surface Pro 13 appears in Geekbench under Microsoft’s internal product names rather than a retail name. Microsoft is testing this model with the Core Ultra 5 325 and Core Ultra 5 335. Both are 8-core Panther Lake processors with 47 TOPS NPU support, four Intel Xe GPU cores and a 25W base power. The Core Ultra 5 325 boosts up to 4.5 GHz, while the Core Ultra 5 335 reaches 4.6 GHz.
Geekbench confirms 24GB and 32GB memory configurations for the Surface Pro. WinFuture says retailer listings also mention a 16GB base model, while Core Ultra 7 options are expected but have not appeared in the benchmark database yet. Previous retailer data also pointed to 5G configurations for the business tablet.

The Surface Laptop 8 for Business is listed more directly as a 13.8-inch model. The tested system uses the Core Ultra X7 368H , a 16-core Panther Lake processor with P-core boost clocks up to 5.0 GHz. This chip also includes the Arc B390 integrated GPU, which is Intel’s 12 Xe-core graphics configuration for Panther Lake.
The Core Ultra X7 368H has a 25W base power, while OEMs can configure its maximum turbo power at 65W or 80W. The tested Surface Laptop 8 system used 32GB of memory, but WinFuture says earlier retailer data also listed 16GB and 64GB versions.
