GameNative adds FSR 1.0 upscaling for PC games on Android

GameNative 0.9.1 targets PC gaming on Android Proton 10

GameNative has received a new 0.9.1 pre-release update, adding FSR 1.0 upscaling and several compatibility fixes for PC gaming on Android. The app is an open-source project that allows users to play PC games directly on Android devices , with Steam listed as the main use case on the project website. Its GitHub release notes also reference Epic, GOG and Amazon-related integrations.

After reading the changelog, I think the biggest update is AMD FSR 1.0 and new scaling modes. According to the pull request, GameNative now supports None, Linear, Nearest, Fill, Stretch and FSR 1.0 scaling. The FSR path uses EASU and RCAS passes, with render resolution taken from the container or X-server settings and scaled to the device display resolution. It also includes a sharpness slider and live preview. Keep in mind, FSR1 is the most basic scalar upscaling.

Epic, Proton updates

The 0.9.1 pre-release also adds support for Epic EOS DRM and online play, multi-controller support, GameNative’s custom Proton 10 builds, FEXCore 2604 and Box64 0.4.2. The release notes also mention Turnip 26.2.0 drivers for Snapdragon 8 Elite and Adreno 7xx/6xx GPUs, with a note that these drivers fix some Unreal Engine 5 DX12 games.
