ASUS teases new ROG NUC mini PC, Arrow Lake Refresh upgrade possible
© ASUS/Tony Yu ASUS appears to be preparing another update to its ROG NUC gaming mini PC lineup. The new system was shown through an ASUS China teaser tied to a May giveaway, where the first prize is listed as a “new ROG NUC.”
The teaser image shows a compact ROG system that looks close to the current ROG NUC 2025 design. The main changes appear to be external decoration and the base structure, rather than a new chassis. ASUS has not confirmed the final product name or specifications.
ROG NUC 2025-2026
The current ROG NUC 2025 is based on Intel Core Ultra 200HX processors and up to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080 Laptop GPU. ASUS lists the existing model with up to a Core Ultra 9 275HX, DDR5-6400 memory, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, triple-fan cooling and support for up to five 4K displays.
The new teaser could point to a Core Ultra 200HX Plus refresh. Intel has already introduced Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus and Core Ultra 7 270HX Plus processors as Arrow Lake Refresh parts, with the lineup aimed at high-end gaming laptops and mobile workstations. A ROG NUC refresh based on these chips would fit ASUS’ existing HX-class mini PC platform.
A Panther Lake-based variant is less certain. ASUS already has Panther Lake mini PCs in the NUC 16 Pro family, but the ROG NUC line currently uses higher-power HX processors paired with discrete GeForce GPUs. Unless ASUS changes the platform strategy, Core Ultra 200HX Plus looks like the more likely upgrade path for this specific chassis.
