AMD RDNA 2 gets ray tracing Today AMD announced that their upcoming RDNA 2 architecture, the backbone of next-generation gaming consoles (Sony PlayStation 5 and XBOX Series X) and upcoming Radeon RX Navi 2X graphics card will support DirectX 12 Ultimate, Microsoft's latest iteration of its low-level API. The DirectX 12 Ultimate supports DirectX Raytracing 1.1, a new version of DXR featuring new capabilities such as inline ray tracing.
