RTX 50 GPUs reach 13.4% on Steam with laptops included

Valve has published its Steam Hardware & Software Survey for April 2026. The latest data shows continued growth for NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 50 series, which now has every desktop SKU listed in the main GPU table, including the GeForce RTX 5050.

Desktop GeForce RTX 50 GPUs now account for 10.8% of surveyed systems. The total rises to 13.41% when laptop GPUs are included. The largest desktop entries are the RTX 5070 at 2.86% , RTX 5060 at 2.57% , RTX 5060 Ti at 1.81% , RTX 5070 Ti at 1.62% , RTX 5080 at 1.37% , RTX 5090 at 0.41% , and RTX 5050 at 0.16% . The RTX 5050 is new to the overview list.
AMD also has a new RDNA 4 entry, with the Radeon RX 9070 appearing at 0.17% , also up 0.17 points . The RX 7800 XT remains AMD’s highest listed modern desktop Radeon card at 1.22% .

Apple M2 is another new entry in the video card overview. It appears at 1.77% , with the same value shown as its monthly gain. Valve does not explain the change, so this may be linked to Mac sampling or Steam’s hardware detection, but there is no confirmation.

VRAM data also moved toward higher-capacity cards. The 16GB category increased to 23.51% , up 1.98 points . The 8GB category remains the largest group at 26.76% , but it dropped 0.76 points .
