MSI celebrates May the 4th with GeForce RTX 5080 Star Wars teaser, only 500 cards will be made

MSI is preparing a new limited edition GeForce RTX 5080 graphics card themed around The Mandalorian and Grogu. The company teased the card on May 4, also known as Star Wars Day, with a full reveal scheduled for May 20.
The GPU is tied to the launch window of Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu, the first Star Wars theatrical release in several years. Disney lists the movie for release on May 22, 2026, with Jon Favreau directing and Pedro Pascal, Sigourney Weaver and Jeremy Allen White in the cast.

MSI has not shared the full specifications yet. The teaser only confirms the GeForce RTX 5080 branding and the limited edition Star Wars design. This likely means a custom cooler shroud, backplate and retail packaging rather than a new GPU configuration.
The standard GeForce RTX 5080 is based on NVIDIA Blackwell and ships with 16GB of GDDR7 memory. Partner cards are already available in multiple custom designs, including MSI’s own Gaming Trio models. Those cards use a 256-bit memory interface and 10,752 CUDA cores, depending on the exact model.

The May 20 reveal should confirm whether this model is based on MSI’s existing Gaming Trio cooler or a different board design. The company has confirmed only 500 units will be made.
