Most notable on the AlmaLinux side with the 10.2 release is bringing i686 user-space packages support . This i686 user-space package support comes even with upstream RHEL 10 not supporting said 32-bit packages. AlmaLinux is providing these 32-bit packages to assist those in needing to still run 32-bit legacy software atop their x86_64 hosts. This new support is just for i686 user-space package support and comes without any i686 ISOs or the like as that is still a no longer supported configuration.
AlmaLinux 10.2 Beta adds Python 3.14, PostgreSQL, Ruby 4.0, PHP 8.4, and other new packages. AlmaLinux 10.2 Beta is also patched against the recent Copy Fail vulnerability.
