PassMark prepares MemTest86 for more LPCAMM2 laptops
PassMark has released MemTest86 11.7, a new version of its memory diagnostic tool with several changes aimed at LPCAMM2 modules.

The main addition is preliminary faulty die decoding support for LPCAMM2 on Intel Meteor Lake and Arrow Lake chipsets. This should help identify which part of a module is tied to memory errors, rather than only reporting a generic failure. PassMark also added LPCAMM2 support to the module graphical report.
The update also adds form factor information to detected SPD modules. This means reports can now identify modules as LPCAMM2 where supported. MemTest86 11.7 can also include an unknown slot error count in bitmap reports.
LPCAMM2 is becoming more common in laptops because it keeps LPDDR-style memory on a removable module. Unlike soldered LPDDR5X, it can be replaced or upgraded, while still using a flat layout suited for thin systems. Most recently we covered Lenovo systems with LPCAMM2 , including a ThinkBook model using 8533 MT/s memory and a Samsung module reaching 96GB at 9600 MT/s.
MemTest86 11.7 also adds CPU, ECC, timing and decoding support for Intel Bartlett Lake. The same update includes ECC, timing and decoding support for more Raptor Lake and Arrow Lake chipset variants. For LPCAMM2 users, the update is mainly about better reporting and early fault isolation rather than performance or compatibility changes.
