Microsoft expands battery profiles for ROG Xbox Ally handhelds

Microsoft adds 28 more games to ROG Xbox Ally Default Game Profiles

Microsoft has expanded Default Game Profile support for the ASUS ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X handhelds. The company says more than two dozen additional games now support per-title device settings for Xbox Store PC versions.

Default Game Profiles adjust system-level settings for supported games. Microsoft says the profiles set TDP and FPS limits to balance performance and battery life when the handheld is running on battery. The profiles are delivered through an Xbox service, but ASUS software applies the settings on the device.

The new list includes 28 games. Most are supported on both the ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X. Two titles, Invincible VS and Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, are listed only for the ROG Xbox Ally X in Microsoft’s table.

The added games include ARK: Survival Ascended, Borderlands 3, Fallout 4, Fallout 76, Final Fantasy VII Remake, Forza Horizon 6, GTA V, Grounded 2, Hades 2, High on Life 2, Mortal Kombat 11, Ninja Gaiden 4, Resident Evil 2 (2019), Silent Hill F, Skyrim, Stardew Valley, Starfield and The Outer Worlds 2. Microsoft says these games join the 40 titles supported when the feature launched in preview last November.

Microsoft has been adding more handheld-specific features to the ROG Xbox Ally platform over the past few months. A recent Xbox Wire update also confirmed that Default Game Profiles and Advanced Shader Delivery are supported on both ROG Xbox Ally models, with more than 1000 PC games now covered by the Handheld Compatibility program.
