AMD 900 series motherboards with full CUDIMM and CAMM support, suggest leaker

BIOSTAR says it will present “next-generation AMD” motherboards at Computex Taipei 2026. The company did not name the chipset, but the wording points to a new AM5 board lineup, likely prepared for AMD’s next desktop Ryzen CPUs. For now, this is expected to mean something like X970E, although AMD has not confirmed such a name.
MEGAsizeGPU claims the new platform may still use PROM21 , the same chipset family behind current AM5 boards. The change would instead come from BIOS, board routing, and memory support. According to the leaker, the new boards may add full CUDIMM and CAMM support , rather than only relying on the limited compatibility added through recent AGESA updates.
It could be another PROM 21 refresh, but with full CUDIMM/CAMM support. Chipset-wise, it's the same as 600/800, but the BIOS and RAM support have undergone fundamental changes. https://t.co/uD7PA0p3aA

CUDIMM bypass for 600/800 series, full support on 900
Existing Ryzen 7000, Ryzen 8000G, and Ryzen 9000 processors can use CUDIMM only in bypass mode, because their memory controller does not provide native CUDIMM support. Recent EXPO 1.2 and AGESA updates allow the modules to work, but not at the speeds CUDIMM is meant to enable. Full support is currently expected with Zen 6-based Ryzen desktop CPUs.
The open question is whether new boards will enable full CUDIMM support for existing AM5 CPUs, or whether this will require Ryzen 10000 processors. Based on current reports, the CPU memory controller appears to be the limiting factor, so existing CPUs may remain limited to bypass mode even on new boards. The board refresh could still be required for CAMM layouts, higher memory speeds, and cleaner signal routing for next-generation Ryzen CPUs.
By the way, PROM21 chipset is used by nearly all motehrboards for AM5 socket: X670, X670E, X870E use two Promontory 21 chips. B650, B650E, B850 and X870 use one Promontory 21 chip. Only B840 is different, it is based on Promontory 19.
