Hisense GX Ultra 5K Mini LED monitor listed for ~$1,030 with 180Hz dual mode in China

Hisense is preparing to launch the GX Ultra, a new Mini LED gaming monitor with a 5K panel and dual refresh-rate modes. The monitor has appeared in China ahead of its official launch tomorrow. The listing shows a launch price of 6,999 RMB (after discount), which is around $1,030.
The GX Ultra uses a 5K panel with a 180Hz refresh rate. It also supports a lower-resolution 2.5K mode at 330Hz. This follows the same direction as several 27-inch 5K gaming monitors already covered by us, including the ASUS ROG Strix XG27JCG and LG UltraGear 27GM950B .

Hisense is pairing the panel with a 2304-zone glass-based Mini LED backlight . The company also lists 0OD, or zero optical distance, which is meant to reduce the gap between the backlight and LCD layer. Peak brightness is rated at up to 2000 nits.
The monitor uses Hisense’s “ Obsidian Screen ” coating, described as a glossy panel with internal and external anti-reflection treatment. Earlier reports on the same display family mentioned a 1.8% reflectivity claim for this coating.
The GX Ultra also includes built-in speakers and an audio amplifier chip. Some Chinese listings mention a TV-style image processor and smart TV features, but Hisense has not yet published a full specification sheet for all regions.
It looks like the 5K gaming monitor market is growing, and we may soon hear more about a broader 5K push. Technically, NVIDIA already introduced 8K gaming support with the GeForce RTX 3090, as some readers may remember.
