MINISFORUM launches fanless Intel Core Series 3 “Wildcat Lake” NAS

MINISFORUM launches All-Flash S5 NAS with “Wildcat Lake”

MINISFORUM and Intel have announced two new Agent NAS systems at a joint event in China. The new lineup includes the All-Flash S5 and the 7-bay All-Flash S7, both aimed at local storage and edge AI workloads.

The All-Flash S5 is based on Intel Core Series 3, also known as Wildcat Lake . This is Intel’s value-focused 18A platform for laptops, commercial systems and edge devices. The product uses an all-SSD layout and does not rely on 3.5-inch or 2.5-inch SATA drives.

MINISFORUM says the S5 has five M.2 2280 PCIe 4.0 x1 SSD slots. The system also offers one 10GbE RJ45 port, one 2.5GbE RJ45 port, two USB4 40Gbps ports, two USB 3.2 Type-A ports, one HDMI 2.1 output and an AC power input. The new NAS should also offer up to 16GB LPDDR5X-7200 memory, Wi-Fi 7 and up to 10.8GB/s combined SSD throughput.

The main difference from many compact NAS systems is cooling. MINISFORUM says the S5 uses a fanless design and an all-SSD structure. This allows the system to run without fan noise, which the company targets at home theater setups and other noise-sensitive environments.

The company also introduced the All-Flash S7 , a seven-slot NVMe NAS configuration based on the MINISFORUM MS-03 workstation platform. This model has dual 10G SFP+ ports, one 10G RJ45 port, one 2.5G RJ45 port and two USB4 40Gbps ports. MINISFORUM also confirmed an LED status display for system and storage activity.

Minisforum has not announced pricing or release date for either system.
