Steam Machine package IDs appear in Valve reservation system update

Steam Machine may use the same reservation system as the Steam Controller, based on code tracked by SteamTracking. A recent Steam community JavaScript update added reservation-related fields and includes package IDs tied to Valve hardware. The same block includes four Steam Machine package IDs: 1629447, 1629446, 1629458, and 1629460 . It also includes two Steam Frame packages and existing Steam Controller and Steam Deck package references.

Redditor “pepeizq” was first to notice the change in Steam Tracking data. User said the references appeared in the same update that expanded the reservation system used for Steam Controller. SteamDB pages for the four package IDs confirm the packages exist, but SteamDB says it has no information beyond that. The pages link them by changelist inference to AppID 4165910, listed as “ Hardware Steam Machine. ”

Four packages: 512GB/2TB options, and controller bundles
The four IDs match what Steam users in the thread expect from Valve’s confirmed storage options. Valve’s Steam Machine page lists two storage sizes: 512GB and 2TB, both with microSD expansion. Reddit users suggested the four packages could be 512GB and 2TB configurations, each sold with or without a Steam Controller.

Valve already moved Steam Controller sales to a reservation queue after the May 4 launch sold out. Buyers need a Steam account in good standing and a purchase before April 27, 2026. Once a controller becomes available, Valve gives users 72 hours to complete the order. We already covered Valve opening the Steam Controller reservation queue, and the new code suggests that Valve may have prepared the same system for other 2026 hardware.
Steam Machine pricing has not been announced. More recently we also covered earlier placeholder listings from Czech retailers, where page code showed 512GB and 2TB models with high pre-release prices.
