Discord adds Xbox Game Pass access to Nitro membership
Microsoft has confirmed a new expansion of its Xbox and Discord partnership. Discord Nitro members now receive access to a starter edition of Xbox Game Pass where available, while eligible Xbox Game Pass subscribers will receive Discord Nitro benefits later this month.
According to Xbox Wire, Discord Nitro now includes a starter edition of Xbox Game Pass. The company says this gives eligible Nitro members a way to discover and play games through Game Pass. Microsoft did not list the full game catalog in the Xbox Wire post, but the announcement confirms the plan is now official after previous leaks .
Discord has also added new Game Pass integration inside its app. When users see a friend playing a supported game through a stream or Discord game activity, they can select the “Play” button and choose “Xbox Game Pass” to start playing.
Coming Soon: Discord Nitro Benefits for Xbox Game Pass Subscribers
Soon, eligible Xbox Game Pass subscribers will also receive Discord Nitro benefits as part of our ongoing partnership. This will start later this month.
Benefits will include:
- 250 Discord Orbs each month
- 1.2x extra Orbs when completing Quests
- Automatically applied Discord Shop discounts

This follows earlier reports that Discord Nitro would receive a limited Xbox Game Pass tier. We previously reported that Xbox Game Pass Starter Edition was tied to Discord Nitro and that leaked materials pointed to more than 50 games , 10 hours of cloud gaming per month, and Xbox Rewards support. Microsoft’s post confirms the Discord Nitro bundle, but it does not repeat all previously leaked details.
Microsoft says more details will be shared later through Xbox Wire and its social channels. The company has not yet confirmed whether Xbox Game Pass Starter Edition will become a separate paid tier outside Discord Nitro.
