AMD adds RDNA3 Navi 31 and Navi 33 GPUs to its ROCm dev tools

AMD ROCm support for Navi 31/33

AMD RDNA3 GPUs have recently been added to official ROCm developer tools.

The launch of Navi 3X GPUs may still be far away, but AMD is already preparing its developer tools for the upcoming launch. Two of the three rumored Navi 30 series GPUs can now be found in the Github update. The ROCclr (Radeon Open Compute Common Language Runtime) now lists Navi 31, the rumored flagship of the next-gen series, and Navi 33, considered a mid-range GPU.

Last month was full of RDNA3 leaks and rumors, we have learned of the possible specs of both GPUs and some basic details on their design. The Navi 31 is rumored to be an MCM (multi-chip-module) design with two active graphics chiplets. The GPU is said to offer as many as 15360 FP32 cores, which would be tied to GDDR6 memory. On the other hand, the Navi 33 would be monolithic, making good use of TSMC’s 6nm node with 5120 Stream Processors.

So far the rumors of Navi 3X GPUs taping out have not found any confirmation. Those processors are now expected to launch no sooner than Q3 2022, which means there is still a lot of time for tape out and mass production. Earlier this month , a Twitter user known as Olrak29_ came up with block diagrams of all three rumored Navi 3X GPUs:
