Intel “Big APU” Razor Lake

A new rumor from Haze2K1 claims that Intel Razor Lake-AX will use on-package memory. The claim only mentions memory placement, with no confirmed memory type, capacity, or bandwidth. If true, Razor Lake-AX would be the newest known Intel client SKU after Lunar Lake to use this design.
This would be a change from Intel’s previous public comments. Intel said Lunar Lake was a one-off design for Memory on Package , with Panther Lake, Nova Lake, and future products planned around off-package system memory. The company linked that decision to cost, margins, and roadmap simplification.

Razor Lake rumors
According to previous rumors, Razor Lake-AX is considered a potential competitor to AMD Halo-class APUs and Apple M Pro-class chips. It’s a concept of large APU design that removes the need for discrete GPU out of the system. It is now a separate line compared to normal desktop and low-power APU designs.
Lunar Lake currently remains Intel’s only released client platform with memory integrated into the package. The Core Ultra 200V series uses 16GB or 32GB of LPDDR5X-8533 memory, and the configuration cannot be upgraded after purchase. A return to packaged memory on Razor Lake-AX would likely be tied to a larger integrated GPU, where memory bandwidth is more critical than on standard mobile CPUs.
