Noctua launches NF-A12x25 G2 chromax.black 120mm fans
Noctua has launched the NF-A12x25 G2 PWM chromax.black, the black version of its second-generation 120mm fan. The new model keeps the same 120x25mm format and technical design as the standard NF-A12x25 G2, but changes the color scheme to an all-black finish.
The fan is aimed at PC cases, heatsinks and liquid cooling radiators. Noctua says the G2 version uses a Progressive Bend impeller, a Centrifugal Turbulator hub, winglets and a 0.5mm tip clearance. The impeller is made from Sterrox liquid-crystal polymer.
The NF-A12x25 G2 PWM chromax.black uses a 4-pin PWM connector and supports automatic speed control through motherboard fan headers. The regular NF-A12x25 G2 PWM model reaches up to 1800 RPM, with a Low-Noise Adaptor reducing the maximum speed to 1500 RPM.
Noctua is also releasing the NF-A12x25 G2 PWM Sx2-PP chromax.black dual-fan pack. This version includes two fans with a small speed offset of around 50 RPM. The company says this helps reduce beat frequencies when two fans run side by side or in push-pull setups.
The dual pack is designed for 240mm and 360mm radiators, as well as case configurations with multiple 120mm fans installed next to each other. Noctua also mentions its SSO2 bearing, an MTTF rating above 150,000 hours and a six-year manufacturer warranty.
The NF-A12x25 G2 PWM chromax.black is priced at $34.90 or €34.90. The NF-A12x25 G2 PWM Sx2-PP chromax.black dual-fan pack is priced at $64.90 or €64.90. The launch follows Noctua’s earlier teaser for the black NF-A12x25 G2 and its explanation of why chromax.black models usually arrive months after the standard versions.
