New Alienware 15 gaming laptop is cheaper, but not cheaper

Dell has listed the new Alienware 15 gaming laptop in Europe and the United States. The system is the brand’s new entry-level 15.3-inch model, but US pricing now shows a wide gap between the lowest starting price and the RTX 5060 configuration.
In Europe, Dell Ireland lists the AMD-based Alienware 15 DA15265 from €998.99. Dell UK lists the same model from £879. The EU price includes VAT, which means the Irish price is around €812 before VAT. Dell’s US store lists the AMD version with a build-your-own price from $1,299.99, while the currently shown preconfigured model starts at $1,399.99 with a Ryzen 7 260 and GeForce RTX 4050. Needless to say, these prices are much higher than they should be.

The AMD model supports Ryzen 200 Series processors and up to a GeForce RTX 5060 Laptop GPU. Dell’s US configurations show an RTX 4050 model for $1,399.99, an RTX 5050 model for $1,459.99 and an RTX 5060 model for $1,849.99. The Intel version starts at $1,509.99 with a Core 7 240H and RTX 5050, while Dell also lists an RTX 5060 configuration for $2,299.99. Yes, over $2000 for RTX 5060. I’m not sure what they were thinking here.
Dell lists a 15.3-inch WUXGA IPS panel with a 1920×1200 resolution, 165Hz refresh rate, 300 nits brightness, and 62.5% sRGB coverage (also known as poor coverage). The system also uses DDR5-5600 memory and PCIe Gen4 SSD storage in the configurations shown by Dell.

The Alienware 15 supports RTX 3050, RTX 4050, RTX 5050 and RTX 5060 graphics on the AMD platform, depending on region and configuration. Dell’s specification page lists the RTX 3050 and RTX 4050 with 6GB of GDDR6 memory, while the RTX 5050 and RTX 5060 use 8GB of GDDR7 memory.
Safe to say, Dell missed the boat entirely with these systems. Old graphics, rebranded Ryzen & Core CPUs, and who even thought that a 62.5% sRGB screen has room in any 2026 laptop?
