Xbox Elite Controller Series 3 images show extra bottom controls
The new premium controller keeps Elite customization but adds local/cloud mode switching and two new lower controls.
Microsoft’s potential Xbox Elite Controller Series 3 has appeared in Anatel documentation (Brazil’s telecom regulator). The filing was obtained by Tecnoblog and shows a black Xbox controller with Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth support.
This follows the compact Xbox controller listing we covered earlier. That model also appeared through Anatel and pointed to Microsoft preparing new cloud-focused controller hardware.

Unlike the compact controller, the Elite model keeps the premium layout. The images show interchangeable and adjustable D-Pad, triggers and paddles. The design remains close to the Elite Series 2, but the lower shell has changed.
The controller now has two extra controls near the 3.5 mm headphone jack. Tecnoblog says these parts resemble scroll wheels. Their function is not confirmed, but they could be used for continuous input in flight simulators or other games with gradual adjustments.

The filing also confirms a button for switching between “local” and “cloud” modes. The documentation does not name the wireless chip, but Tecnoblog suggests Microsoft may use the same Realtek RTL8730E found in the compact controller. That chip supports Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth.

The new Elite model keeps a removable rechargeable battery. Tecnoblog reports a 1,528 mAh capacity, down from the 2,050 mAh battery used by the Elite Series 2. Microsoft currently lists the Elite Series 2 with up to 40 hours of battery life.
There is no confirmed launch date or price. Microsoft currently lists the Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 at $199.99 MSRP in the United States.
