Thermal Grizzly launches delidded Core Ultra 7 270K Plus at $525

Thermal Grizzly has added the Intel Core Ultra 7 270K Plus to its TG Delidded CPU lineup. The processor is sold after delidding, cleaning, light die surface treatment and validation by Thermal Grizzly. The company lists the CPU at $525.33 including VAT, plus shipping.
The Core Ultra 7 270K Plus is part of Intel’s Arrow Lake desktop lineup for the LGA1851 socket. Intel’s own specifications list 24 cores with 8 Performance cores and 16 Efficient cores, 24 threads, up to 5.5 GHz boost, 36MB Intel Smart Cache, 40MB L2 cache, 125W base power and 250W maximum turbo power. Intel’s recommended customer price is $289 to $299.

Thermal Grizzly says the TG Delidded CPU is intended for direct-die cooling. The company claims that removing the heatspreader and using liquid metal with a direct-die water block can reduce load temperatures by up to 22°C, depending on the custom loop and radiator setup.
The company also provides its own warranty, since delidding normally voids the CPU manufacturer’s warranty. Each processor is tested after preparation, and Thermal Grizzly includes a USB flash drive with a test screenshot and microscope image of the delidded processor.

There is one important restriction. Thermal Grizzly states that the original heatspreader must not be used with this CPU. The stock heatspreader is included in the package, but using it voids the Thermal Grizzly warranty because the height difference between the CPU dies and the original heatspreader may cause damage.
