Microsoft appears to rebrand Xbox as XBOX

Microsoft changes Xbox account name to XBOX after fan poll

Microsoft appears to be changing Xbox branding to “XBOX”, at least across part of its public social presence. The company’s main Xbox account on X has already been renamed with all-caps styling.

The change follows a poll from Xbox CEO Asha Sharma, who asked users whether Microsoft should use “Xbox” or “XBOX”. Out of 19,176 people voting, 64.8% chose the all-caps version.

Xbox or XBOX?

Microsoft did not provide a separate statement on the change and referred to Sharma’s post. The all-caps branding is not new for Microsoft’s console business. The original Xbox logo used all caps, and console logos for Xbox 360, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S have also used uppercase styling.

The branding change comes after Microsoft renamed its gaming division back to Xbox. Microsoft said Xbox would focus on console, PC, mobile, and cloud, with pricing, discovery, personalization, and platform tools listed among areas that need work.

I will likely continue using Xbox for now, but we will see. I hope you care about this as little as I do.
