Intel Core i9-14900KF reaches 9.2 GHz overclock, beating previous world record
Extreme overclocker “wytiwx” has set a new CPU frequency world record with Intel’s Core i9-14900KF.
Well, it’s not Arrow Lake, but good old Raptor Lake. The processor reached 9206.34 MHz, according to HWBOT. The result was submitted on May 15 and is listed as first place in the CPU Frequency ranking out of 16,118 submissions.
The record was achieved with an Intel Core i9-14900KF . HWBOT lists only the P-cores for this run, with the processor cooled by liquid helium. The entry also lists Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut Extreme thermal paste.

The system used an ASUS ROG Maximus Z790 Apex motherboard with the Z790 chipset. The test setup also included 16GB of DDR5 memory and an ASUS ROG THOR 1600W power supply.
The previous CPU frequency world record belonged to elmor, who reached 9117.75 MHz with a Core i9-14900KS. The new result is 88.59 MHz higher. We covered that previous 9.117 GHz Core i9-14900KS record in March 2024 . So it’s been two years since the last record, interestingly on nearly the same CPU.
Intel also acknowledged the result through its Intel Technology account, calling it a new CPU frequency world record. The company said wytiwx pushed the Core i9-14900KF past 9.2 GHz on an ASUS ROG Maximus Z790 Apex motherboard.
