ASUS gives AMD’s Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 the full ROG gaming treatment
ASUS has prepared a new AMD-themed ROG desktop build with AMD’s Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 Dual Edition processor and Radeon RX 9070 XT graphics card. The system was shown during ROG Day 2026 in China, where ASUS also presented AMD-themed ROG Ryujin 4 liquid cooling and a matching ROG chassis.
The configuration uses the Ryzen 9 9950X3D2, a Radeon RX 9070 XT and the ROG CROSSHAIR X870E DARK HERO motherboard. This is a full AMD gaming setup under the ROG brand, rather than a workstation-style build around AMD’s new dual 3D V-Cache processor. ASUS has prepared some custom parts for this build, like the AMD-themed Ryujin 4 cooler at 2499 RMB (~$367) and the matching case at 2399 RMB ($352), with both expected in June.

AMD flagship Ryzen CPU in gaming build
This is an interesting use of the Ryzen 9 9950X3D2, because AMD did not actually present this CPU as a gaming-focused part. The first 16-core processor with dual AMD 3D V-Cache technology was introduced first as a chip for content creators and workstation users.

The Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 and Radeon RX 9070 XT cost nearly the same, which is not how most gaming builds are usually balanced. Based on PCPartPicker data, the Ryzen 7 9800X3D and Ryzen 9 9850X3D appear to be much more common choices for Radeon RX 9070 XT systems, but then the 9950X3D2 is quite new, so perhaps there are people who want the best Ryzen CPU and best Radeon GPU available at this time?
According to Chinese media, the full system costs 25999 RMB, which is about $3820. But that only gives you 32 GB of memory, mind you.
