Ryzen 7 9850X3D is now priced below 9800X3D’s original MSRP

AMD’s Ryzen 7 9850X3D has received its first larger discount. The CPU launched in January at $499. It was only $20 more expensive than the Ryzen 7 9800X3D, which debuted at $479. At $454.99, the newer CPU is now below the original MSRP of the 9800X3D.
Both processors are 8-core, 16-thread Zen 5 CPUs for AM5 motherboards with 96MB of L3 cache and a 120W TDP. The main difference is frequency. The Ryzen 7 9850X3D boosts up to 5.6 GHz, while the Ryzen 7 9800X3D tops out at 5.2 GHz.
The Ryzen 7 9800X3D is also back at $419.99, reportedly with a Newegg bundle that includes a Corsair CX750M power supply. We previously covered the 9800X3D hitting $419 and later $409, so the gap between both X3D parts keeps changing depending on store promos.
For now, the 9850X3D deal makes AMD’s faster 8-core X3D CPU a closer option for buyers who were comparing both chips.
