PlayStation Plus monthly and three-month plans get more expensive
Sony has confirmed another price increase for PlayStation Plus, this time for new customers in select regions.
Starting May 20, the one-month PlayStation Plus subscription will start at $10.99 / €9.99 / £7.99. The three-month plan will start at $27.99 / €27.99 / £21.99. Sony says the change is tied to “ongoing market conditions.”
The increase appears to affect the shorter subscription periods first. In the United States, this means a $1 increase for the one-month Essential plan and a $3 increase for the three-month plan. Sony has not clarified whether Extra or Premium tiers will receive the same adjustment.

Current subscribers will keep their existing price as long as their subscription remains active. The exception is Turkey and India, where Sony says existing users will also move to the new rates. Users who change tiers or allow their subscription to expire may also be moved to the updated pricing.
Sony has already raised PlayStation hardware pricing several times in recent months. We previously covered PS5, PS5 Pro and PlayStation Portal price increases in Europe and other regions, as well as a separate PS5 price increase in the United States.
The move follows similar subscription changes from Microsoft. Xbox Game Pass Ultimate was raised from $19.99 to $29.99 per month last year, while Microsoft also restructured the service into Essential, Premium and Ultimate tiers.
