MSI PRO MAX 271UPX12G brings 4K QD-OLED panel to office monitors

MSI has added a new OLED model to its PRO MAX monitor series. The PRO MAX 271UPX12G is a 26.5-inch display with a 3840×2160 QD-OLED panel and a 120Hz refresh rate.

This model is not aimed at the same segment as MSI’s 240Hz and 500Hz QD-OLED gaming monitors. The PRO MAX series is listed under MSI’s business and productivity lineup , with a focus on office, creator and Mac-connected workflows.

PRO MAX series gets a black 4K QD-OLED model

The PRO MAX 271UPX12G uses a fourth-generation QD-OLED panel. MSI lists a 0.03ms GtG response time, 1,500,000:1 contrast ratio and 10-bit color support. The monitor covers 99% DCI-P3, 97.5% Adobe RGB and 138.2% sRGB, with factory color calibration at Delta E ≤ 2.

The monitor is certified for VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400. MSI lists 250 nits SDR brightness and 1000 nits HDR peak brightness. This is worth noting because some store material mentions True Black 500, while MSI’s detailed specification page confirms True Black 400.

Connectivity includes two HDMI 2.1 ports, one DisplayPort 1.4a input and one USB-C port with DisplayPort Alt Mode. The USB-C port supports 15W power delivery. The monitor also includes a headphone output and two 2.5W speakers.

MSI lists support for AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and NVIDIA G-SYNC Compatible variable refresh rate. The stand supports tilt, swivel, pivot and 150 mm height adjustment. MSI also includes OLED Care 2.0, PIP/PBP and a three-year warranty with OLED burn-in coverage.

The PRO MAX 271UPX12G is listed by MSI’s US store at $649.99, but it is currently marked as out of stock.
