AMD Ryzen 7 7700X3D leak lists 8 cores and 96MB L3 cache
AMD may be preparing another Ryzen processor with 3D V-Cache for the AM5 platform. Hardware leaker chi11eddog has shared specifications for a Ryzen 7 7700X3D processor.
7800X3D vs 7700X3D: 200 MHz lower base clock and 500 MHz lower boost clock
According to the leak, the processor would feature 8 cores and 16 threads. It is listed with a 120W TDP and 96MB of L3 cache. The clock speeds are said to be 4.0 GHz base and 4.5 GHz boost.
The specifications suggest a Zen 4-based X3D part, at least based on the Ryzen 7000 naming. This would place the processor below the Ryzen 7 7800X3D, which has the same core count and 96MB of L3 cache, but higher clocks. AMD’s official 7800X3D specifications list a 4.2 GHz base clock and up to 5.0 GHz boost clock.

Recent X3D releases
AMD has already been expanding the X3D lineup on AM5. The company recently introduced the Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 Dual Edition with 16 cores, 32 threads, 200W TDP and 208MB of total cache.
A Ryzen 7 7700X3D would be a different type of release. Based on the leaked clocks, it would not be a faster version of the 7800X3D. Instead, it looks more like a lower-bin or region-specific AM5 X3D model, perhaps aimed at OEMs or selected retailers. Given that the 7800X3D currently costs around $330-360, the new 7700X3D should launch close to $300, give or take.
