RTX 5090 now around $5300 in Korea

GeForce RTX 5090 pricing appears to be moving higher in South Korea. Hardware leaker Harukaze5719 reports that the ASUS TUF GeForce RTX 5090 OC increased from 7.59 million KRW to 7.99 million KRW in one day.

The same post claims that the ASUS ROG Astral GeForce RTX 5090 White moved from 7.79 million KRW to 8.19 million KRW. According to the post, these prices are now around $5300.

China does not want RTX 5090D V2

The card was not blocked once, but twice, and it may now face a third restriction. NVIDIA’s flagship GB202 GPU could have another issue entering China, at least through official channels. HKEPC reports that China has blocked imports of the GeForce RTX 5090D v2. According to the report, Chinese customs has notified logistics companies that this card will not receive import permits.

The GeForce RTX 5090D v2 is a China-specific version of NVIDIA’s flagship gaming card. It was designed to meet export rules by reducing AI compute and memory performance compared with the standard RTX 5090. Previous reports listed this version with 24GB of GDDR7 memory on a 384-bit bus, while the regular RTX 5090 uses 32GB on a 512-bit bus.

It has been learned that Chinese customs has notified logistics companies that the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 D v2 will not be issued import permits. This sudden ban has caught NVIDIA completely off guard. Since the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 D v2 is a product specifically for the Chinese market, it cannot be sold in other countries.
