Intel Crescent Island AI accelerator reportedly supports up to 480GB LPDDR5X

Intel’s upcoming Crescent Island accelerator may have more memory bandwidth than previously confirmed. According to Bionic_Squash, the Xe3P-based data-center GPU is expected to support LPDDR5X-9600 memory . This configuration should reach around 1.5 TB/s of memory bandwidth.
This would line up with the PCB layout that leaked earlier this week. The board shown by YuuKi_AnS appears to have 20 LPDDR5X package positions, with 12 on the front and 8 on the back. A 1280-bit LPDDR5X interface running at 9600 MT/s would provide around 1.54 TB/s of bandwidth, assuming the reported configuration is accurate.

160GB confirmed, up to 480GB rumored
Intel has already confirmed Crescent Island as an official data-center GPU for AI inference. The company announced the accelerator in October with Xe3P architecture, 160GB of LPDDR5X memory and a design focused on air-cooled enterprise servers. Intel also said customer sampling is planned for the second half of 2026.

YuuKi_AnS now suggests that Crescent Island could support 160GB to 480GB of memory . Intel has only confirmed the 160GB configuration, which matches 20 packages at 8GB each. A 480GB version would require much denser LPDDR5X packages at 24GB per module.

Xe3P is Intel’s next performance-focused extension of its Xe graphics architecture. It is already official for Crescent Island, but this product is not a gaming GPU. Recent rumors suggest Intel is not preparing a gaming Arc card based on this design, leaving Xe3P for data-center and possibly workstation hardware instead. On the other hand, it is coming to Nova Lake integrated graphics.
