AMD releases WHQL driver for Radeon VII, RX Vega and Polaris GPUs
AMD has released a new Radeon Software driver for Polaris and Vega graphics cards. The new Adrenalin Edition 26.5.2 package is separate from the regular RDNA driver released last week and targets older Radeon products still supported through AMD’s legacy driver branch.
The driver supports Radeon RX 400, Radeon RX 500, Radeon 500X, Radeon RX Vega, Radeon VII and AMD Radeon Pro Duo graphics cards. AMD also lists AMD Radeon 600 Series mobile graphics as supported, but notes that this is a notebook reference driver with limited support for system vendor features.

There is only one listed fix in this release. AMD says the driver addresses an intermittent application crash in Apex Legends on Radeon RX 400 and Radeon RX 500 series graphics cards. The release notes do not mention new game support or performance updates for Polaris or Vega. But this is not a surprise, as these architectures are no longer maintained, and AMD is no longer offering day-1 support for new games.
This driver is a follow-up to Adrenalin Edition 25.8.1 for Polaris & Vega, which as you may already recognize was released in August last year. These GPUs are not exactly new either. The last Polaris gaming card was the Radeon RX 590 in 2018 , while the last Vega gaming card was the Radeon VII in 2019.
The regular Adrenalin 26.5.2 driver lists support for newer Radeon RX 9000, RX 7000, RX 6000 and RX 5000 products, along with new game support for Forza Horizon 6 and 007 First Light. Those items are not listed in the Polaris/Vega release notes.
