ASUS shows another ROG Astral RTX 50 card
ASUS appears to be preparing another ROG Astral graphics card for the RTX 50 series. The company has shown a new black-and-gold design in a short teaser, which also includes what looks like a matching high-end ROG motherboard setup.
The graphics card appears to use ASUS’ BTF connector system . This means the card may draw power through a compatible motherboard slot rather than a visible 12V-2×6 cable attached directly to the card. ASUS already sells ROG Astral BTF models with its GC-HPWR connector, so this would expand the same concept into another design variant.
The new card uses a black shroud with gold accents , which appears to be part of ASUS’ 20th anniversary ROG color scheme. It also makes this yet another ROG Astral model, joining the standard Astral, Astral BTF, Dhahab and other special variants that ASUS has shown since the RTX 50 launch.
The design may remind some users of Colorful’s older iGame GTX 1080 KUDAN . That card used a large triple-fan cooler with gold ring accents and a hybrid cooling setup. ASUS’ teaser does not suggest the same cooling approach, but the black-and-gold styling gives it a similar visual direction.
New ROG X870E Glacial
The same teaser also shows a new ROG motherboard or a motherboard-and-cooling bundle. The board appears to follow the black-and-gold theme rather than the retro copper styling of the ROG Crosshair 2006. It could be related to ASUS’ X870E Glacial line or another high-end ROG model, but ASUS has not confirmed the product name or full specifications yet.
ASUS already launched the ROG Crosshair 2006 as a 20th anniversary AM5 motherboard based on the X870E chipset. That board uses retro styling, a 20+2+2 power stage design, PCIe 5.0 support, USB4 and a 2-inch LiveDash OLED display. The new teaser appears to show a different design direction, perhaps for a matching black-and-gold ROG build.
