Steam Machine listed with NAVI33 and Vulkan 1.4 support
Mesa/RADV listing confirms Vulkan 1.4 CTS pass for AMD Steam Machine

Valve’s upcoming Steam Machine has appeared in the official Khronos Vulkan conformant products database. The entry lists the device as “AMD Steam Machine” and shows Vulkan 1.4 support through the Mesa/RADV driver stack (open-source Vulkan driver for AMD Radeon GPUs.)
The listing was added on May 23, 2026 under Software Freedom Conservancy . Yes, this is the same organization that is now involved in the recent 3D printer BambuLabs drama. It uses Vulkan CTS version 1.4.5.3 and identifies the GPU family as RADV_NAVI33 (as in Navi 33). The same entry lists the CPU as “ AMD Custom CPU 1772 ” and the operating system as Linux 6.16.12-valve6-1-neptune-616-g37101e112292 x86_64.

Of course, Software Freedom Conservancy is not the hardware vendor. It is the organization shown for the conformance submission. According to Mesa, individual driver teams run conformance tests and submit results for specific hardware and operating system combinations. X.Org is a Khronos member through Software Freedom Conservancy, which can help submit results to the official conformant products list.
The source is Khronos Group’s official conformant products database. Khronos maintains the public list of products that passed Vulkan conformance testing. For Vulkan, a conformant implementation must pass the Vulkan CTS before the Vulkan name or logo can be used with that implementation.
It’s just a formality
The entry confirms that the Steam Machine platform has passed Vulkan 1.4 conformance using the open-source Mesa/RADV stack. It also confirms Valve’s Neptune Linux branch in the tested configuration. Speaking from experience, such conformity lists are rarely a good indicator of when something is going to launch, but they are definitely one of the last steps of the pre-launch period. Keep in mind there are many ‘confidential’ products on Vulkan conformity lists too, but Steam Machine is no secret to anyone at this point.
