ASUS may use Computex 2026 to show new ROG Ally device

ASUS may show a next-generation gaming handheld at Computex 2026, according to comments from German handheld-focused YouTuber Steam Dad. The claim is not official, but the wording points to a possible reveal during the Taipei trade show. Computex 2026 starts quite soon, it runs from June 2 to June 5 in Taipei.

Steam Dad said he could not share details yet, but told viewers to watch Computex if they want to see a “ next-gen handheld from ASUS. ” He added that more could be discussed “probably in two weeks,” which lines up with the Computex schedule.

The source did not mention specifications, chipset, screen size, price, or product name. There is no confirmation whether this device would be another ROG Ally model, a new Xbox-branded ROG Ally, or a different ASUS handheld.

“As you probably know, and if you don’t, you know now, Computex takes place in Taiwan at the beginning of June, and ASUS will also be there. I can’t say too much here either, except that you should keep an eye on Computex if you want to see a next-gen handheld from ASUS, because it could possibly be that something will be presented there. We will probably talk about that soon, maybe in two weeks. I’m not allowed to say anything more about it right now.”

The most recent update is the ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X with Windows 11, Ryzen Z2-series APUs, 7-inch FHD 120Hz displays. Microsoft handheld features such as the Handheld Compatibility Program and Advanced Shader Delivery. The Xbox Ally handhelds are the launch vehicles for many of the Windows game-related features, which are often available to other systems like the Legion Go or MSI Claw.

At this point, it is not clear what kind of upgrade this would be. We know Intel will unveil Arc G3 handheld chips at Computex, but ASUS was not listed among the official partners for this platform. AMD is also not expected to reveal the Ryzen Z3 series this soon, so we may be looking at a mid-cycle product refresh rather than a new handheld.
