More budget-focused laptops from Intel
Intel Lunar Lake laptops are now being discounted into the same price range as Intel’s new Wildcat Lake systems in China. Core Ultra 5 226V laptops have become cheaper than some models using the newer Core 5 320 processor.
The example shown is the Mechrevo 16S 2026, a thin 16-inch laptop based on the Core Ultra 5 226V. The system is reportedly listed at 4,099 RMB, or roughly $570 before regional pricing adjustments. Earlier retailer coverage listed the same model at 4,799 RMB, but local government subsidies can reduce the final price to 4,079 RMB in some areas. China offers consumer product subsidies on selected devices, which means the final price can vary by region.
In mainland China, laptops featuring the Ultra 5 226V have become very affordable, even cheaper than Wildcat Lake laptops.

Lunar Lake vs. Wildcat Lake
Lunar Lake launched as a more premium low-power platform, while Wildcat Lake is aimed at more affordable systems. The Lunar Lake Core Ultra 5 226V offers 8-core chip with a 4.5 GHz boost clock, 8MB cache and Arc 130V graphics. Wildcat Lake Core 5 320 is a 6-core, 6-thread processor with 2 Performance cores and 4 Low Power Efficient cores. Intel lists it with a 4.6 GHz boost clock, 6MB cache, 15W base power and 35W maximum turbo power.
The Mechrevo 16S 2026 configuration reportedly includes 16GB LPDDR5X-8533 memory, 512GB storage, a 60Wh battery and a 16-inch 2560×1600 120Hz display. That’s twice the memory and storage of the MacBook Neo, a budget laptop from Apple.
