Geoff Keighley smoke teaser revives Steam Machine rumors
There is no confirmation that Valve will appear during the show, but Geoff’s latest post on X may suggest that something ‘Steam-related’ is cooking (and steaming). Summer Game Fest is scheduled for June 5 at 2 PM PT, 5 PM ET and 11 PM CEST, with Geoff Keighley and Lucy James hosting the event from Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.
While it’s too early to speculate what could be shown or announced at the event, the most obvious candidate is the Steam Machine launch detail reveal. Pricing, release date, anything at this point would give Valve fans and gamers some kind of information about how much they should prepare for this new cube-shaped console.

Valve is busy
We have already covered several signs of launch preparation, including import records listing around 50 tons of Valve products marked as “Game Consoles” in the United States. Those records did not confirm the product name, but they appeared after months of Steam Machine, Steam Frame and Steam Controller activity. The Controller has already been released, unlike the Frame and Machine.

We also reported that Valve’s reservation code reportedly references four Steam Machine packages. Valve has already opened a reservation queue for the Steam Controller after stock issues and resale listings. A similar system for Steam Machine would not be surprising, although Valve has not announced it yet.
Valve has confirmed that Steam Machine will be offered in 512GB and 2TB storage options. The official page also lists expandable microSD storage, Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3. Pricing and release date are still not confirmed, and Valve has already said the system will not be sold as a console-style subsidized product.
NotebookCheck goes a bit further by reintroducing Half Life 3 rumors. Well, I mean, the event is literally called “Game Fest” so it would make sense to announce a new game there, but I think this announcement could be easily overshadowed by the sudden drop of the GTA 6 trailer. Or maybe it wouldn’t?
