MediaTek teases ‘something’ ahead of Computex 2026

MediaTek has posted a Computex 2026 teaser on X, and the short clip includes a laptop. The company has not confirmed what this device is, but its Computex 2026 page mentions “ radically new notebook PC experiences ” as part of its booth showcase.

This does not mean MediaTek has no laptop presence today. The company already powers Chromebooks through its Kompanio platform, including devices such as the Lenovo Chromebook Plus Gen 10 and Acer Chromebook Plus 714. Those systems run ChromeOS, not Windows.

NVIDIA N1?

The more interesting angle is Windows on Arm. MediaTek has been repeatedly linked to NVIDIA’s rumored N1 and N1X PC SoCs, which are expected to combine MediaTek CPU technology with NVIDIA graphics. As we previously reported, Dell and Lenovo laptops are among the expected systems using this platform.

I guess we will hear more soon. With MediaTek’s Computex keynote no longer on the schedule, any update on the rumored NVIDIA N1 platform is now more likely to come from Jensen Huang’s keynote on June 1 . MediaTek CEO Rick Tsai was originally scheduled to deliver a Computex keynote on June 3, but the event was later cancelled due to “scheduling adjustments.” Whatever that means.
