Corsair SHUGO DDR5 combines 6000 MT/s CL28 specs with collector-style artwork
Corsair SHUGO DDR5 launches at $599.
Corsair has launched SHUGO DDR5, a limited memory series focused more on design than raw capacity. The first kits are available in ONYX BLADE and SAKURA NOA designs, both using printed artwork on the heat spreader.
The company says each module uses aluminum heat spreaders, UV printing and pad printing. SHUGO also introduces Corsair’s patent-pending light-emitting micro-drilling technology, which allows RGB lighting to pass through the side of the module and become part of the artwork.
Two real modules, two dummy modules
The current Corsair webstore listing shows a 32GB kit with two 16GB DDR5 modules and two Light Enhancement Kit modules. The LEK sticks are RGB fillers for empty DIMM slots and contain no memory. This gives users a four-slot look without using four active memory modules.
The kit is rated up to 6000 MT/s with CL28 timings at 1.4V. Corsair lists support for Intel and AMD platforms, with iCUE support for RGB control. The modules also use Corsair DHX cooling and a custom PCB, according to the company.
Corsair lists the SHUGO DDR5 kit at $599.99 in the US and €662.99 in Europe. The US store shows the SAKURA NOA model in stock, while the EU listing shows the ONYX BLADE version at the same regional price level. This is clearly not a standard DDR5-6000 kit, but a design-focused release with a controlled launch model.
