Dell unveils 1 kg XPS 13 with Intel Wildcat Lake and 17-hour battery claim

Dell is preparing a new XPS 13 (DX13260), a redesigned 13.4-inch premium laptop that the company describes as its thinnest and lightest XPS model to date. The system weighs just 1 kg (2.2 lbs) and measures 12.7 mm thick, placing it below the current XPS 14 and XPS 16 models in both size and weight.

The new XPS 13 will be available with Intel Core 5 320 and Intel Core Ultra 7 355 processors from Intel’s Series 3 lineup. Dell says the Core Ultra configuration offers up to 49 TOPS of NPU performance, qualifying it as a Copilot+ PC, while standard Core models provide 16 TOPS. Memory options range from 8GB to 32GB LPDDR5X-7467 , paired with up to 1TB PCIe Gen4 SSD storage.

Dell equips the laptop with a 13.4-inch 2560×1600 InfinityEdge touchscreen featuring a 30-120Hz variable refresh rate, 500 nits brightness, 100% DCI-P3 color coverage, Dolby Vision, DisplayHDR 400 certification, and Eyesafe technology. The company is targeting up to 17 hours of video streaming battery life from the integrated 52Wh battery.

The system uses a CNC-machined aluminum chassis and comes in Sky and Storm color options. Connectivity includes either two USB Type-C ports or two Thunderbolt 4 ports depending on processor configuration, alongside Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, a 1080p IR webcam, quad speakers with Dolby Atmos, and a backlit keyboard.
