Alienware Turns 30 By Dropping The World’s First 39-Inch 5K OLED Monitor, Hitting 1,300 Nits With RGB Tandem Tech

Dell Alienware introduced four new high-end gaming monitors, catering to the demands of enthusiasts for every budget.

Dell Alienware will turn 30 this October, and to celebrate its 30th anniversary, the company has decided to launch more gaming monitors. Ahead of Computex, Dell's Alienware launched four new high-end gaming monitors that are built for enthusiasts, which Alienware says bring "premium performance" at a "compelling price". The lineup includes both OLED and VA displays, but the most interesting addition is the new 39-inch 5K gaming monitor.

Alienware says that the AW3926QW is the world's first 39-inch 5K OLED gaming monitor that uses the RGB Tandem OLED technology. This panel offers four RGB layers to add more brightness without losing the color accuracy or deep blacks. The AW3926QW uses an RGB Tandem panel to achieve up to 1,300 nits of peak brightness and retains incredible contrast for superior visuals.

The display offers a 1500R curved screen for more immersion, and since it's a huge 39-inch panel, 5K resolution makes it ideal for sharper visuals. However, users can still downgrade to 1080p using the OSD menu in seconds and hit up to 330 Hz refresh rate for smoother visuals. At 5K, the monitor runs at a decent 165 Hz for an immersive and cinematic gaming experience, but pushing 60 FPS at 5K is a challenging task, let alone hitting 165 FPS.

The second offering is the Alienware 34-inch QD-OLED monitor , AW3426DW, which uses the latest RGB Penta Tandem OLED technology for even superior and brighter visuals. Alienware says the AW3426DW is inspired by the original AW3425DW, which launched in 2022, but brings higher peak brightness of up to 1,300 nits, improves refresh rate from 240 Hz to 280 Hz, and brings VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500+Dolby Vision certification.

The remaining two use the VA panel, offering 34-inch and 32-inch display sizes. These are the AW3426DWM and AW3226DM , which offer up to 240 Hz of refresh rate at 3440x1440p and 2560x1440p, respectively. Both offer a curved 1500R screen for better immersion, AMD FreeSync Premium for tear-free gameplay, Dolby Vision, and VESA DisplayHDR 400 support for superior visuals.

Pricing-wise, Alienware hasn't disclosed the prices for the OLED panels, but the VA monitors will start at $299 for the AW3226DM and $399 for the AW3426DWM. All four monitors will be launched globally, starting late June and July.
