ASUS releases AGESA 1.3.0.1b BIOS for AM5 X870 boards

ASUS X870 BIOS update adds tCCD_L and tCCDL controls

ASUS has released a new AM5 BIOS update for its X870E and X870 motherboards.

The new firmware is based on AGESA ComboAM5 1.3.0.1b. According to ASUS, the update adds three DDR5 timing options to the AMD OC menu: tCCD_L, tCCDL_WR and tCCDL_WR2 . These are low-level memory timing controls aimed mostly at users manually tuning DDR5.

tCCD_L is the long CAS-to-CAS delay. It controls the minimum delay between consecutive column commands when memory accesses use the same bank group. This timing can affect read-to-read behavior on DDR5, mainly at higher memory clocks.

tCCDL_WR and tCCDL_WR2 are related write-side variants of the same long column-command delay. They control timing behavior for consecutive write operations or write paths within the same bank group. Lower values can improve memory latency or bandwidth in tuned profiles, but they can also affect stability.

The previous AGESA 1.3.0.1 release already added support for AMD’s newer AM5 firmware branch. ASUS also listed optimizations for the Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 Dual Edition and added a Crosshair Tweak option for selected ROG Crosshair boards. A later BIOS in the same AGESA 1.3.0.1 branch also added EXPO 1.2 support.

Do not use older versions of cmo files, they may cause problems with agesa 1301b bios (Compatible with same agesa version BIOS)

  1. Update to AGESA ComboAM5 1.3.0.1b
  2. add new tCCD_L / tCCDL_WR / tCCDL_WR2 timing option in amd oc menu

Uniko reports that the new APU firmware has changed from 101.69.0 in AGESA 1.3.0.1 to 101.72.0 in AGESA 1.3.0.1b. This confirms a newer APU firmware package, but there is still no sign that this BIOS adds support for higher-end APUs (Strix/Gorgon Point).
