Thermal Grizzly is turning WireView Pro II into a quieter Noctua version
© Gamers Nexus Thermal Grizzly is preparing a Noctua Edition of its WireView Pro II GPU power monitor, a device built for graphics cards using the 12V-2×6 power connector. The product was shown by Roman Hartung, better known as Der8auer, during a Gamers Nexus Computex segment.
The new model is based on the existing WireView Pro II, so the electrical monitoring features remain the same. This includes per-pin sensing, which can detect uneven current distribution or possible contact problems before they become a larger issue. Thermal Grizzly already sells the regular WireView Pro II for 12V-2×6 cards, with a TFT display, logging features and warranty coverage tied to power delivery failures.
The Noctua Edition changes the cooling hardware. The regular WireView Pro II uses a 30 mm fan, while the Noctua version moves to a 40 mm fan. Thermal Grizzly said it had to modify the PCB and make the housing around 7 mm larger to fit the fan. The device also adds a heatsink with a thermal pad placed near the connector solder area, cooling the traces and pins.
According to Der8auer, the larger fan should allow the device to run passively at much higher loads. He said that around 600W, the Noctua Edition may still run without spinning the fan in systems with some airflow. Noctua also helped optimize the fan grill, although Thermal Grizzly does not yet have final acoustic numbers.

Pricing is expected to be €199, compared with €119 for the regular WireView Pro II in Europe. The launch is planned in roughly three months, according to the Computex discussion.
