AMD Ryzen 7 7700X3D now official
AMD is preparing another Ryzen processor with 3D V-Cache for the AM5 platform. The Ryzen 7 7700X3D, which had already appeared in the rumor space, is now officially set to launch on July 16 with a $329 SEP.
The processor is listed as an 8-core and 16-thread Zen 4 part. It reportedly features a 4.0 GHz base clock and a 4.5 GHz boost clock, which puts it below the Ryzen 7 7800X3D. That model has a 4.2 GHz base clock and boosts up to 5.0 GHz.
The cache configuration appears to remain close to other 8-core X3D models. The Ryzen 7 7700X3D is said to feature 104MB of total cache, including 96MB of L3 cache. The TDP is listed at 120W, matching the Ryzen 7 7800X3D.
This gives AMD another 8-core X3D option below the Ryzen 7 7800X3D and Ryzen 7 9800X3D. AMD already offers cheaper AM5 X3D models with 6 cores, but the Ryzen 7 7700X3D would keep the 8-core layout used by the 7800X3D.

Earlier this month, Ryzen 7 7700X3D specifications were shared through leaks, and CPU-Z later added support for the processor in version 2.20.1. The reported specs now match those earlier entries, including 8 cores, 16 threads and 96MB of L3 cache.
At $329, the Ryzen 7 7700X3D would launch $120 below the original $449 price of the Ryzen 7 7800X3D. The lower boost clock will separate both Zen 4 X3D parts, but the new model could become a cheaper drop-in option for AM5 users looking for 3D V-Cache.
