NVIDIA confirms RTX Spark PCs with Blackwell GPU, 20-core Grace CPU and DLSS support

NVIDIA is turning RTX Spark into a Windows PC platform

NVIDIA has officially announced RTX Spark, a new Windows PC platform built around a Grace Blackwell superchip. The announcement confirms that NVIDIA is entering the consumer PC processor segment with a full system-on-chip design, not just a discrete GPU.

The chip was announced with Microsoft at GTC Taipei. NVIDIA says RTX Spark is designed for AI agents, content creation and gaming. The platform will appear in slim Windows laptops and compact desktop PCs this fall.

RTX Spark uses a Blackwell RTX GPU with 6144 CUDA cores and fifth-generation Tensor Cores with FP4 support. NVIDIA lists up to 1 petaFLOP of FP4 AI performance. The GPU is connected through NVLink-C2C to a 20-core Grace CPU, which NVIDIA says was custom-built with MediaTek.

128GB unified memory and 600 GB/s NVLink-C2C

The top RTX Spark configuration supports up to 128GB of LPDDR5X unified memory. NVIDIA lists 600 GB/s GPU-to-CPU bandwidth through NVLink-C2C. The company compares this to 5x PCIe Gen5 bandwidth.

This confirms that RTX Spark is closely related to the GB10 chip used by DGX Spark. The difference is the target market. DGX Spark was introduced as a compact AI development system, while RTX Spark is now being positioned as a Windows PC platform for laptops and small desktops.

According to NVIDIA, RTX Spark systems can run 120-billion-parameter language models locally with up to 1 million tokens of context. The company also says the platform can render 90GB 3D scenes, edit 12K 4:2:2 video and generate 4K AI videos.

RTX gaming support is official

NVIDIA also confirmed gaming support. The company lists RTX ray tracing, DLSS, Reflex and G-SYNC as part of the platform . One keynote slide mentions 1440p gaming at more than 100 FPS.

The official press release says RTX Spark PCs can play AAA games at 1440p and over 100 FPS with ray tracing, DLSS and Reflex. NVIDIA did not provide a full game list, settings or power limits for this claim.

NVIDIA used Indiana Jones and the Great Circle as one example. The company also told the site that RTX Spark can offer graphics performance close to a GeForce RTX 5070 Laptop GPU depending on the application.

Windows on Arm, but with more native apps and games

RTX Spark is Arm-based silicon. This means traditional x86 Windows applications may need to run through Microsoft’s Prism emulator unless native Arm versions are available.

NVIDIA and Microsoft are working on a native Windows platform for AI agents. NVIDIA calls its runtime OpenShell. Microsoft is adding Windows security and containment features to let local agents run with user control.

NVIDIA says Adobe is reworking Photoshop and Premiere for RTX Spark. The company also mentions native Arm support from Blender, DaVinci Resolve, Maxon Cinema4D, Redshift, Topaz Photo, CapCut, Cubase, Bitwig Studio and Affinity by Canva.

Premium laptops first, smaller desktops also planned

NVIDIA says RTX Spark laptops will ship in 14-inch to 16-inch designs. The company lists chassis as thin as 14 mm and as light as three pounds. Some models will use tandem OLED panels with G-SYNC support.

The first OEMs include ASUS, Dell, HP, Lenovo, Microsoft Surface and MSI. Acer and GIGABYTE systems will follow later. The Verge reports that NVIDIA partners are already working on more than 30 laptops and more than 10 desktops.

Confirmed models include ASUS ProArt P14 and P16, Dell XPS 16, HP OmniBook X14 and Ultra 16, Lenovo Yoga Pro 9N, Microsoft Surface Laptop Ultra and MSI Prestige N16 Flip AI.

More RTX Spark variants are coming

The first systems will target premium price points. NVIDIA has not confirmed pricing yet. The RTX Spark will become a family of chips covering more price points. Lower configurations are planned and may start with as little as 16GB of memory.

NVIDIA also reportedly confirmed that RTX Spark systems will not pair the chip with additional discrete GPUs. This may limit its use in larger desktops, but it fits the current focus on compact PCs and thin laptops.

NVIDIA did not confirm Linux driver plans. It also did not comment on possible gaming handheld use. The company says more performance details will be shared closer to launch.
