Microsoft’s new Surface Laptop Ultra gets NVIDIA RTX Spark
15-inch Surface uses NVIDIA’s Arm-based PC processor.
Microsoft has revealed the Surface Laptop Ultra, a new 15-inch laptop built with NVIDIA’s RTX Spark platform. The device was shown in official images and later pictured by The Verge, giving the first look at Microsoft’s highest-end Surface Laptop so far.
The Surface Laptop Ultra is the first Surface Laptop to combine an NVIDIA Blackwell RTX GPU with up to 128GB of unified memory and full CUDA support. Microsoft says the system was engineered with NVIDIA from the silicon level and tuned for Windows. The company is targeting creators, developers and AI workloads that need large memory pools.

Microsoft claims up to 1 PFLOP of AI compute and support for running up to 120B-parameter models locally. The company notes that this figure is based on theoretical FP4 TOPS with sparsity, sourced from NVIDIA. Microsoft has not confirmed the exact CPU configuration, CUDA core count or power limits for this Surface model.

NVIDIA RTX Spark for Windows on ARM
RTX Spark is an Arm-based PC platform related to the chip used in DGX Spark. The top configuration reportedly has up to 20 CPU cores, 6,144 CUDA cores and 128GB of unified memory. The Surface Laptop Ultra weighs under 4.5 pounds.
The display is a 15-inch mini-LED PixelSense Ultra touchscreen with up to 2,000 nits peak HDR brightness and 262 PPI. Microsoft says this is the brightest display it has shipped on a Surface device. The laptop will be available in Platinum and Nightfall finishes.

Microsoft also confirmed HDMI, USB-C, USB-A, SD card and headphone ports. It has not listed the exact USB or HDMI versions. The laptop also uses the largest haptic touchpad Microsoft has put in a Surface device.
Surface Laptop Ultra will be available later this year. Microsoft has not announced pricing, storage options or full regional availability.
