Noctua will distribute Carbice IP90 pads for DIY PC builders
Noctua has announced a long-term partnership with Carbice, a U.S.-based company focused on vertically aligned carbon nanotube thermal interface materials. Under the deal, Noctua will become the exclusive retail distributor of Carbice pads for the DIY PC market.
The first product will be the Noctua NT-CP1 AM5/4, a thermal pad designed for AMD Ryzen processors. Noctua says the pad has been tuned and validated for both AM5 and AM4 CPUs. The product will be shown at Computex 2026, which runs from June 2 to June 5 in Taipei.
Carbice pads use carbon nanotube forests placed around an aluminum backbone. The surface also has a nanoscale polymer coating. According to Noctua and Carbice, this makes the pads easier to handle than some graphite-based pads, while also keeping them removable and less prone to slipping during installation.

The companies claim the pad can improve contact over time through repeated thermal cycles. This differs from thermal paste, which can lose performance over time due to pump-out, cracking or drying. Noctua is pitching the NT-CP1 AM5/4 as a clean thermal interface option for users who do not want to reapply paste later.
This is not the first consumer appearance for Carbice’s material. AMD has also confirmed that the Ryzen 7 5800X3D 10th Anniversary Edition will ship with a Carbice Ice Pad. That makes the Noctua partnership the next step for standalone retail availability in the DIY market.
The NT-CP1 AM5/4 is currently scheduled to launch in September 2026. Noctua has not confirmed pricing yet.
