Young Malaysians reinvent the family business playbook to survive

KUALA LUMPUR -- Ng Seng Kiat has run Melawis, his 20-seat char kuey teow restaurant in the Malaysian city of Klang, for more than 57 years. But despite a local newspaper review describing the flat stir-fried noodles as "simply heavenly," the writing is on the wall for the 87-year old's eatery.
